I will be the first to admit. I don’t like knit. I made a swimsuit, which was my first attempt at knit, but I don’t especially like it. Why? Well, it shifts, you can’t sew fast, and I am not a patient person when it comes to going slow. The night before last, a call went out by the Peek-A-Boo Pattern Shop for an emergency testing. They needed a Playdate V-neck Tee tested. I had some princess knit that I had bought a while back and intended on making samples, or lounge pants for the kids, well… since it is knit, it just sat there… Last night, determined to do it I cut out all the pieces, and got to work. I won’t say it was easy, but, I have a LOT better handle on it now. I think when I do it again it will be a LOT easier. It just took a while to figure everything out. I am not the most patient person (I think I said that once before)… Well, here it is. It is not perfect, but, it was really good for a first try. I had to take the neckline off twice from doing it wrong, and, little known fact about knit, when you take a seam ripper and take off the fabric that you messed up on, it doesn’t react well, because it starts to fray… just an FYI.
Pretty girl wouldn’t let me take any really good pictures, but you can see it. The shirt puckers on the neckline in one place, but, for never doing it before, like I said, can’t complain. I am going to be adding them to the shop to wear under overalls, etc, once I get them good. (Probably in the next week or two). There are a LOT of sizes. You can have a cuff sleeve, or a regular straight sleeve. I am thinking about doing lounge sets, but, I don’t know if those count as sleepwear and have to meet flammability standards… something else to check on… 🙂 As always, if you want to place a custom order, email me at Lil.Liza.Lou@gmail.com, and I will send you a quote the available fabrics, sizes, etc.
