Modified A-Line Dress

Of all pattern designers, Tie Dye Diva will always be my favorite. She taught me to sew. Her patterns are wonderful and she is very talented. The last week I have had an idea about making an A-Line dress with a flutter sleeve and pockets. Tried to find a pattern online, and couldn’t. Being that I am a do-it-yourself kinda girl, I decided I would modify a pattern I already had. While I did mess up in the beginning (think putting the sleeves on not only backwards but upside down) I finally got it done and couldn’t be more pleased with the results. Sew Cute!

Something Old is New

One of the reasons I love sewing is because you can take something that is nothing and make it spectacular. This Vintage Circus Dress started life as a twin bed dust ruffle (no joke). It told me it likes being a dress better. This dress will be offered in limited sizes and the fabric is very collectible, as it is discontinued. It is beautiful and I love the whimsical feel of it. Who needs a dust ruffle when you can make a pretty dress instead?

The Sound Of Prettiness

As a child my little sister LOVED the movie “Sound of Music”. She would watch it over and over. This past week I saw this amazing set of curtains at Goodwill. It was beautiful and I resolved that I would bring it home and give the discarded items some much needed love. Turned out better than I thought they would. You can see the fabric is very detailed, and so pretty and intricate.
